Clairissa Barz, DVM

Dr Barz is our head veterinarian at Animal Emergency Hospital. She has been an instrumental part of our team since she joined us after completing her undergraduate studies at Florida Institute of Technology and earning her DVM degree from The Ohio State University in 2001. Dr. Barz and her husband have 2 daughters and 3 Dachshunds. She loves the breed and can’t imagine ever owning another! She spends much of her free time running and has competed in many races, including 2 marathons. She has recently taken up triathlon racing and has a long term goal of competing in a 1/2 Ironman race.

Maria Arnsman, DVM

Dr. Arnsman is one of our newest doctors here at Animal Emergency Hospital. She earned her DVM degree from Michigan State University (MSU) in 1996 and joined our team in November of 2014. Dr. Arnsman has been actively involved in spay/neuter programs for over 10 years. She shares her home with four dogs and seven cats. She also has three horses. In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding and spending time with her family and pets.

Erin Shevock, DVM

Dr. Shevock, a published writer appearing in the Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association, has been a part of our team since 2011. She earned her degree from Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She and her husband, along with their two dogs—Abby, a black Lab and Toby, a Coonhound mix—enjoy leading an active lifestyle, hiking together, mountain biking, snow skiing, and wake boarding. Dr. Shevock also currently competes in the 2’6” hunter division with her young horse Joey.

Gloriani Rosario, DVM

Dr. Rosario-Negron has been with the practice since May 2016. She earned her bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of Puerto Rico and her DVM from MSU College of Veterinary Medicine. She and her husband, Nestor, have a dachshund named Midori and a curly retriever mix named Bruno. When she’s not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, pets, and friends; going to the movies; and traveling. In fact, she has visited various parts of the world, including the Caribbean, South and Central America, and Canada. For her next trip, she hopes to go to South Africa.
